Itinerary

You will be warmly welcome at Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) and transferred to your hotel in Medan. The rest of the day is free for you to make an impression on the city by night by exploring yourself.

Today we will have a short city tour of Medan with a visit of the Maimoon palace, colonial post office and black domed Mesjid Raya (Grand Mosque)
Maimoon Palace is an istana (royal palace) of the Sultanate of Deli and a well-known landmark in Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra, Indonesia. Today, it serves as a museum. It is one of the most beautiful palaces still in existence in Indonesia. Its unique architecture and interior design gives this palace distinctive character.
The Medan Post and Telegraph Office is a historic building in Medan, Indonesia. It was designed by Ir. Snuyf from Burgelijke Openbare Werken (BOW) and opened in 1911. The post office remains in operation and includes a stamp collection exhibit.  A fountain in front of the post office was a tribute to Jacob Nienhuys
Grand Mosque of Medan is a mosque located in Medan, Indonesia. The mosque was built in the year 1906 and completed in 1909. In beginning of its establishment, the mosque was a part of the Maimun palace complex. Its architectural style combines Middle Eastern, Indian and Spanish elements. The mosque has an octagonal shape and has wings to the south, east, north and west. Afterward, lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then, we continue to drive to Bohorok. Spend rest of the day on your own to explore this city or simply relax along the river.

After having breakfast, you will start a 3-hour trekking trip in the Gunung Leuser National Park
This is one of the largest national parks in the world, containing over 800,000 hectares of virgin rainforest. The park is home to the Orang Utans, gibbons, tigers, elephants and the last of the Sumatran rhino. You are likely to see Orang Utans, and perhaps Gibbons but tigers, elephants and rhino are very rare to be seen. At the beginning or at the end of the trekking you will visit the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center where formerly captive apes are re-introduced into the wild. Watch the feedings of them in their natural environment. Then you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then drive to Medan for overnight.

After being free at leisure in the morning, in the evening, you will transfer to the cool and picturesque hill town Berastagi
Situated at an altitude of 1,300 meters, the town has a cool climate.The town developed in the 1920’s as Dutch hill station and today has become a popular weekend destination for Medan residents. The landscape here is dominated by distant views of the smoking volcanoes Mt Sinabung and Mt Sibayak. Berastagi is famous for its flowers, vegetables and fruits and its markets constantly hum with activity.
Continue to pay a visit local market. In here, there are many the exotic vegetables and spices unique to Indonesian cooking, as well as the seasonal tropical fruits. The second floor is the place selling the tradition of jamu in Indonesia – a traditional medicine and beverage based on locally blended herbs and spices that’s used to treat a variety of ailments.  Check in at your hotel in Berastagi and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. After that, our drive will pick you up and drive to Samosir island in the center of Toba lake. On the way, will take a stop to visit Traditional Karo batak Village, Simalungun King’s Palace and the Si Piso Piso waterfall to get a deep insight into Indonesia culture. Afterward, lunch will be served at a local restaurant and in the afternoon you cross Lake Toba with the local ferry to Samosir.
Samosir Island is located in Lake Toba, a large crater lake in northern Sumatra. At 630 square kilometres – slightly smaller than Singapore – Samosir is the world’s largest island within an island. The island was born of a pair of dramatic prehistoric volcanic events, and was technically a peninsula until 1906, when the Dutch dug a canal through the narrow isthmus that attached it to the mainland. The cool air, laid back pace of life and absence of crowds form a welcome respite from the heat and commotion you normally encounter in Indonesia. Toba lake is one of the incredible natural wonders of the world. This enormous crater lake has an island almost the size of Singapore in its centre. At more than 1,450 square kilometers and a depth of 450 meters, Toba lake is more like an ocean. It is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and one of the deepest lakes in the world.

Today, we will spend a whole day to explore Toba Lake. Take a boat trip to Tomok, Ambarita and Simanindo, where you will see traditional Batak houses, as well as graves and tombs in Tomok, stone chairs in Ambarita and traditional Batak dancing in Simanindo.
Return to the hotel and have free time to relax.

In the morning, after breakfast, we cross the lake again and drive back to Medan. (travel time approximately 4 hours).
Upon arrival Medan, spend the rest of the day on your own. You can make an impression on the city by night by exploring yourself.

After having breakfast, we will drive to the airport for the morning flight to Yogyakarta. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel and have a free day to explore this impressive city.

After having breakfast, you will be transfer to Kraton
For the people of Yogyakarta, the Kraton, or Sultan’s Palace, has been the cultural (and mystical) heart and soul of the city since the mid-1700s. The Kraton is a physical representation of the Javanese Cosmos, charged with the divine forces of the universe. Every detail, tree and pavilion has mystical meaning, and if you take a moment you can just, perhaps, feel a little spark in the air. Built on a north-south axis, the Kraton faces sacred Mount Merapi, and backs the ocean, home of the Sultan’s mystical consort Kanjeng Ratu Loro Kidul (the Queen of the Southern Seas).
Continue to transfer by local cyclo, becak to Taman Sari Water Palace and Garden.
Located near the Kraton, this place was also known as the garden for the Sultan of Yogyakarta. Some of its original functions were a place to rest, to meditate, to work, to hide and to defend the Sultan’s family.  In this present day, some of its buildings have now become homes for local residents and only the mosque, resting and bathing space, and underground tunnels are accessible by tourists.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Yogyakarta.
Return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day on your own.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel then we take an one – hour drive to Kaliadem for a two-hour cycling trip. Hop on a bike and peddle through the village with stunning view of Mt Merapi until the finish point in Candi Plaosan.
In the afternoon, discover the UNESCO Heritage site of Borobudur, 42 kilometres west of Yogyakarta.
Borobudur, or Barabudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, and the world’s largest Buddhist temple.It is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa.
Return to your hotel in Yogyakarta and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Having breakfast at the hotel. Today we will participate in a Java overland tour with a short distance to Solo.
On the way, we will take a stop to visit Prambanan Temple
Built in the 10th century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia. Rising above the centre of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals who serve them. UNESCO named Prambanan a Heritage Site in 1991.
Finish the visit Prambanan Temple and return to hotel. In the afternoon, you are free at leisure. In the evening there are great dining opportunities in the city, or at the village centre around the Alun Alun. Each day there are Theatre performances of Wayang Orang in the Sriwedari theatre. Since the Indonesians know the story by heart they can follow it from any point during the performance.

After breakfast, we will continue the overland tour to Malang.
Malang is the second largest city in East Java. This is a city of great historical significance. The city officially became part of the Javanese Mataram kingdom in the 17th century, and came under Dutch colonial rule in the 18th century. The city quickly became very popular with the Dutch due to its cool climate, very attractive rural surrounds and easy reach from the main trading port city of Surabaya.
You have free day to explore this majestic city by yourself.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. In the morning. You are free at leisure to explore Malang town.
Then in the early afternoon, our diver will pick you up and drive to Bromo Volcano. Enjoy comfortable mountain atmosphere, the cool climate at an altitude of about 2000m at the edge of the caldera with before transfer to the hotel.
Your hotel is in or nearby Cemoro Lawang, situated spectacularly on the edge of the Tengger crater. The ascent of the volcano is usually the highlight of every visit to Java. You can watch the sunset at spectacular Bromo.

Early wake up and take a jeep ride to admire the sunset. To conquer the top of Mt. Bromo, we will cross the sea of sand and climb 246 steps upwards. In the morning light you will see flames and smoke rising from the crater; a fantastic view, made even better when the slowly rising sun reveals an amazing moon-like landscape.
After this adventure you will return to your hotel for breakfast and continue drive to Sarongang Village near Meru Betiri National Park Kalibaru, where you stay the night

Wake up in the morning at 02.00 and depart at 03.00 for Turtle release at Sukamade Beach about 2 hours drive with 4WD Jeep . Upon arrival, you will start to have release baby turtle , then we will visit Turtle conservation near by. After breakfast, we will back to Sarongang village for check out and drive along the north coast of East Java to Banyuwangi, Java’s east coast port. Take a short boat trip on the local ferry to Lovina in Bali, the fabled Island of Gods and Demons.
Lovina is nestled on the beach, between the Bedugul mountain range and the Bali sea, this tropical island gem is surrounded by various attractions. Dolphin watching, trekking to waterfalls, hot springs and diving or snorkeling around Menjangan island, home to the best-preserved coral reef in Bali.

Early wakeup before the dawn to venture out onto the sea for a watching of dolphin. Cruise out onto the water, and watch for up to five species of native dolphins jumping out of the waters.

Leave the coast behind as you transfer into the hills towards Munduk. Munduk is a mountain village in the highlands of Central Bali.Munduk and the nearby villages of Kayuputih and Banyuatis are dotted along the scenic drive of twists and turns between Lake Buyan at the west of Bedugul to Seririt on Bali’s northern coast.
Take a stop at Singaraja along the way for a stroll through the bustling local market. Here, you can learn more about the local trade, with everything from local fresh produce such as rice and tobacco, to household necessities like locally made kitchenware and utensils.
Continue en route before making another stop at Banjar Village for a dip in the sacred hot springs. Banjar Hot Springs, locally referred to as ‘Air Panas Banjar’, are located approximately 5km southwest from the famous Lovina coast in North Bali. The hot water springs share the same district as the Brahmavihara Arama Buddhist monastery which is located only 1.5km to the east. The centuries-old hot springs have been upgraded with modern facilities over time, and have become a favourite retreat and recreational site among locals and international visitors.
Afterwards, transfer to Munduk, arrive and check into your hotel.
Spend the rest of the day to explore the hills covered in rainforest, clove, cacao and coffee plantations and rice paddies in the serene ambience of the fertile mountainous region.

In the morning, after having breakfast, we will drive to Ubud. Ubud is in many ways Bali’s cultural heart. It’s in the cool mountains, just an hour’s drive north of the airport. This traditional country town is home to one of Bali’s royal families. You can even visit the majestic palace in the centre of town. Ubud is also well known as a flourishing crafts centre.
On the way, stop in the highland of Bedugul, taking in the scenic views before visiting Ulun Danu Temple. The Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is both a famous picturesque landmark and a significant temple complex located on the western side of the Beratan Lake in Bedugul, central Bali.A water temple on the shores of Lake Bratan, it is used for offerings to the Balinese water goddess.
Continue the trip to Jatiluwih, one of the most famous and stunning views on the island. Admire the incredible panorama of rice terraced hills with its volcanic backdrop. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue along your journey, making one last stop to visit Taman Ayun Temple. Taman Ayun literally translates as ‘beautiful garden’ and is generally regarded as one of the most attractive temples of Bali. The Taman Ayun temple is situated in a beautiful park with trees and ponds, near the village of Mengwi in the south of Bali at about 8 km southwest of Ubud and 18 km northwest of Denpasar.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today, we will pay a visit village of Sebatu with a stunning collection of sacred temples. Move uphill and deeper into the village to visit temple that’s home to the area’s holy water. Here your guide will help you put on a traditional Balinese sarong and demonstrate how to pray to the gods. Observe how each offering has a different colour, learning about the significance of each hue for each prayer. Depart the complex for lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer back to your hotel in Ubud for the afternoon off.
In the evening, head to The Chedi Club for an evening performance unique to Bali’s colourful cultural delights. Admire the Kecak dance, an extraordinary performance by male community members, in which the chorus chants and dances among the flames capturing the imagination. Based on portions of the Ramayana and traditional sanghyang exorcism rituals, this performance stems from an artistic collaboration over eighty years old.
After the mesmerizing show, transfer to The Chedi Club’s restaurant for a royal Balinese dinner, a luxurious ending to a spectacular day.
