We will pick you up from the Airport or your hotel in Sorong. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the dense rainforests of Sorong regency, winding your way towards Malasigi village in a rugged 4WD jeep. The journey is as much a part of the experience as the destination itself, offering glimpses of the raw beauty that awaits.
Upon arrival in Malasigi, you’re welcomed with open arms by the Moi tribe, their vibrant traditional dances and songs. The genuine hospitality of the locals instantly makes you feel at home as you settle into you base camp; simple local house with thin matrasses are provided and there is a local outside bathroom.
In the afternoon you set out to explore the lush rainforest that envelops Malasigi
Plan your birdwatching and jungle exploration activities by discussing options with your guide in advance. Expect challenging jungle paths, potentially slippery, so wear suitable footwear. For optimal birdwatching, depart early before birds become active, sometimes even before dawn. You’ll also have the chance to visit a cave and relax in a hot water spring by the river. Prepare accordingly and enjoy your adventure in Malasigi!
In the morning there is still time to explore the forest. The jeep and guide will take you back in the afternoon and drop you off at your hotel in Sorong.
