  • Visit Wuring a Fishing Village in Maumere. Onwards to Ledalero Museum. In this small museum, you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones
  • Sikka is known for its old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. At Paga Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here
  • Before Moni visit the Traditional village of Jopu. In Moni, you’ll stay overnight at Kelimutu EcoLodge. Rooms are non-AC in this cool hill climate
  • Departure to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the lookout point to wait for the sunrise. Keli Mutu means Mountian of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 colour lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colours
  • Continue through the beautiful landscape via Ende to Riung. This trip will take you from the south coast, with a stop at green stone beach Pengga Jawa, to the dryer north coast of Flores The last part of the road is still in a poor state
  • Boat trip to the National Park 17 islands near Riung. Here a great variety of fish and coral can be seen. Snorkels are included in the tour. But the first stop is at the hundreds of Flying Foxes that hang in the mangrove forests near the coast
  • En route visit Soa hot spring where the hot water boils to the surface. You can take a bath if you like
  • Stop at the village of Naru. In the afternoon visit Wogo a traditional village
  • Morning a visit to the traditional village of Bena. Besides still in tact, with the megalith stones besides the old houses, this village has a beautiful location with views of Mount Inerie
  • Depart for Ruteng. On the way visit Lake Rana Mese
  • Visit Liang Bua: The cave where recently the bones of the short Homo floresiensis (the hobbit) have been excavated by scientists
  • Meet the legendary Komodo dragons, the largest living lizards on Earth, roaming freely on the UNESCO-listed islands of Rinca, Padar, and Komodo. These fascinating creatures, reaching up to 3 meters in length, weight up to 90 kilos.
  • After 1 ½ hour sailing, we reach Loh Buaya. Led by a local ranger 2-hour soft trekking through forest and savanna. Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way
  • Pink Beach. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small islands will take approximately 3 hours. Lunch on board. At Pink Beach time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided)
  • Early wake-up call by the birds of Komodo island. After breakfast on board, we visit Komodo island. Here we make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen
  • Departure to Sumbawa Besar a visit to the Sultan’s Palace of Bima. Outside Bima a stop at salt panning. Onwards via Dompu past the coastal road to Sumbawa Besar. In this city a visit to the Sultan’s Palace of Sumbawa Besar

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Maumere on the island of Flores you will be welcomed by our local. Transfer in to Wailiti or Sea World Club for overnight.

After Breakfast visit Wuring a Fishing Village in Maumere. Onwards to Ledalero Museum. In this small museum you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Sikka is known for is old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. At Paga Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Before Moni a visit Traditional village Jopu. In Moni you’ll stay overnight at Kelimutu EcoLodge. Rooms are non AC in this cool hill climate. At night you could make a stroll through the small village of Moni.

Early morning wake up call for departure to the Keli Mutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look out point to wait for the sunrise. Keli Mutu means Mountian of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 colour lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colours. Breakfast after return to the hotel. Continue through beautiful landscape via Ende to Riung. This trip will take you from the south coast, with stop at green stone beach Pengga Jawa, to the dryer north coast of Flores The last part of the road is still in a poor state. Overnight at Pondok SVD.

Today a boat trip to the National Park 17 islands near Riung. Here a great variety of fish and coral can be seen. Snorkels are included in the tour. But the first stop is at the hundreds of Flying Foxes that hang in the mangrove forests near the coast. Lunch at one of the remote islands. On return to Riung rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Pondok SVD.

In the morning departure for Bajawa. En route visit Soa hotspring where the hot water boils to the surface. You can take a bath if you like. Stop at village of Naru Check into the Hotel. In the afternoon visit Wogo a traditional village. Overnight Silverin or Bintang Wisata Hotel in Bajawa.

In the morning a visit to the traditional village of Bena. Besides still in tact, with the megalith stones besides the old houses, this village has beautiful location with views of Mount Inerie. In the afternoon depart for Ruteng. On the way visit Lake Rana Mese. Overnight Santa Maria or Dahlia Hotel in Ruteng.

A visit to the old centre at Ruteng Puu and visit Liang Bua: The cave where recently the bones of the short Homo Floresiensis (the hobbit) have been excavated by scientists. Afternoon to Labuan Bajo. En route visit the spiderweb ricefields at Cacar. O/n Puri Sari Hotel.

Our purpose today is to see the Komodo Dragon. This largest living lizard on earth lives on 3 islands Rinca, Padar & Komodo and some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with weight of up to 90 kilo. Breakfast at hotel, transfer to the harbour to board for to less famous Rinca island. After 1 ½ hour sailing we reach Loh Buaya. Led by a local ranger 2 hour soft trekking through forest and savanna. Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way. From the highest point on this hike a beautiful panorama of the surrounding island. Onwards to Pink Beach. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will take approximately 3 hours. Lunch on board. At Pink Beach time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided). At the end of the day sail to Loh Liang at Komodo island. Dinner and overnight* on Board.

Early wake up call by the birds of Komodo island. After breakfast on board we visit Komodo island. Here we make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen. Onwards to Sape at the eastern most part of Sumbawa (7-8 hrs). Upon arrival at the harbour of Sape transfer to Hotel Mutmainah or Lambitu for overnight.

Breakfast at hotel, before departure to Sumbawa Besar a visit to the Sultan’s Palace of Bima. Outside Bima a stop at salt panning. Onwards to via Dompu past the coastal road to Sumbawa Besar. At this city a visit to the Sultan’s Palace of Sumbawa Besar. Check into our hotel Kencana Beach for overnight.

Day at leisure. Optionals: snorkeling at Moyo island, Diving, Hiking or renting bicycles. Overnight at Kencana Beach Hotel.

Breakfast at hotel. Departure for harbour Tano. Here crossing by ferry to Lombok. At Pelabuan Lombok transfer past the slopes of Mt. Rinjani to Airport or hotel Senggigi. End of program.
