Discover Java Bali and the Komodo Island

Duration: 14 Days

Overview

The heart of the nation, Java is a complex island of great antiquity: this, after all, is where ancient Java Man stood upright and walked abroad. As such the island, home today to 140 million people and the most populated island on earth, is defined primarily by people. Human ingenuity has left the island sprinkled with ancient treasures, such as the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. It has also shaped a culture that resonates in modern life, as expressed through the artistic traditions of Yogyakarta and Solo and contributes to the modern dynamism of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. Java's megacities may be crowded and gridlocked but they have a restless energy that is magnetic.

Also known as the Land of the Gods, Bali appeals through its sheer natural beauty of looming volcanoes and lush terraced rice fields that exude peace and serenity. It is also famous for surfers’ paradise! Bali enchants with its dramatic dances and colorful ceremonies, its arts, and crafts, to its luxurious beach resorts and exciting nightlife. And everywhere, you will find intricately carved temples.

Located between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores in the East Nusatenggara province,  sits the vast and impressive Komodo National Park. The Komodo National Park encompasses a total of 29 volcanic islands (including the 3 major islands Rinca, Padar and Komodo) and is home to approximately 2,500 Komodo Dragons and other terrestrial fauna such as various species of reptiles, birds, and mammals. The park’s terrain is uniquely diverse, consisting of a mountainous hillside, tropical rain forests, grass-woodland savannah, and pristine white sandy beaches that harbor rich marine biodiversity. The marine environment in the Komodo National Park is one of the world’s richest in flora and fauna and is still relatively undiscovered.  The 2,000 km2 park (which includes protected land and water), is recognized as a global conservation priority area and has an array of natural attractions.

Taru Martani blends three formulas of cigar mixtures, namely: 1) natural cigars (pure tobacco), 2) flavor cigars (tobacco with accent sauce of Mint, Amareto, Vanila, Rum and Hazelnut), and 3) mild cigars (with mild tobacco). The main material of tobacco comes from Besuki area, Jember, East Java. It is called Java Besuki. The taste is dominant and the color is brownish black. It is used for inner liner wrap (omblad) and outer liner (dekblad) of the cigars.

The filler is a combination of Java Besuki and tobacco from Havana – Cuba, Dominican Republic and Brazil. The uniqueness of Taru Martani cigars is that all the processes are hand rolled.
