Itinerary

Arrive in Balikpapan Airport. Meet with our guide then transfer to Samarinda harbor, to board houseboat and start your jungle cruise trip on Mahakam river. Lunch, Dinner provided and overnight on houseboat.

Breakfast on board, while the boat anchor at Muara Muntai Wooden village, short sightseeing tour to experience river life of the local people, then by kayak cross Jempang Lake through the Ohong Creek to Mancong Dayak Longhouse village. During the canoe cruise you could see Rain forest and wildlife as proboscis monkeys and birds. Upon arrival at Mancong, you will be welcomed with a ceremony by the Dayaq Benuaq, at their Longhouse full of ornaments and statutes as the mystic believes of the Dayak tribe, afternoon by motor canoe visit Tanjung Isuy settlement at the Semayang lake known for its shaman health rituals. Return to Houseboat to continue upstream the mighty Mahakam river as Kalimantan ‘s highway in to the hinterland, dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board, when we arrive at Muara Pahu village at the delta of the Kedang Pahu River to, where a new adventure awaits, we will cruise by canoe for more then one hour to Mount Bayan, to visit the Dayak settlement of Terbisak surrounded by tropical rainforest, where the people living in harmony in their community house, and life traditions of dry rise farming and hunting. Downstream by canoe, with a beautiful scenery of slopes and jungle valleys along the river, and can enjoy the exotic nature, and wildlife as otters, leave monkeys, endangered proboscis monkeys and birds along the river bank, before we move to the delta of the Belowan river as a black water peat swamp forest land, with opportunities to spot the fresh water dolphins in the colliding stream of the Kedang Pahu and the Bolowan River. Afternoon, return to houseboat for downstream the river to the Kutai sultanate kingdom of Tenggarong.

Arrive at Tenggarong, visiting the palace of Sultan of Kutai Kertanegara with an impressive collection of heirlooms, ceramics, Dayak’s art and culture items, continue cruise down stream to Samarinda for transfer by overland to Balikpapan airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
