Arrive in Jogjakarta by train/plane at noon for Java overland. Meet and greet by our guide then drive to the Prambanan Hindu Temples, one of the region’s most impressive archeological sites. Check into the hotel.
Full day tour of this rich repository of cultural treasures. We begin with the Sultan’s Palace, the Kraton built in 1755, and the Water Palace where the ladies of the court could enjoy the baths. Visit batik and silver jewellery workshops. Then proceed to the Taru Martani cigar factory which produces 14 types of vintage cigars since 1918. Return to the hotel.

Today’s tour takes you to Borobudur Buddhist temple, the largest of its kind in the world, built in 800 A.D. and on the UNESCO world Heritage list. The sculptures lining each step are a good summary of Javanese history. Proceed to the Mendut and Pawon temples. Return to the hotel.
Departure for the village of Tumpang in Mount Bromo National Park. Change to a 4X4 jeep for the ride to the village of Ranu Pane, then to Cemoro Lawang on the side of Mount Penan-jakan. Proceed through a sandy crater to Mount Bromo. The climb up is by well arranged steps. From the top enjoy an amazing view of the sea of sand, and the Tengger tribal temple. Return to the hotel in Malang.
Drive to Banyuwangi, and pass through the cities of Probolinggo and Paiton en route. Note the mangroves as you approach the coast for lunch on Pasir Putih Beach. Continue on toward the city of Situbondo and the Baluran National Park with its teak forest. Check into the hotel.
DAY-7 BANYUWANGI – IJEN VOLCANO – LOVINA (Bali) (B)
Early breakfast and partial ascension of Ijen volcano with 4X4 jeep. Then proceed to a 2 hour climb on a comfortable dirt road to the top. Observe the men who climb down to the crater to gather sulphur blocks. Proceed back to the jeep, and your car for the drive to Ketapang harbour, where you will board a ferry to the island of Bali. Meeting and drive to Lovina on the north coast. End of service.
